First of all I would like to give a big thank you to all of those that helped bring this together and sponsor our wonderful trip. Look forward to some thank you cards very soon! The experience has been incredible and has reaffirmed why I picked this major. The learning came from not just the classes, but also from walking the town and talking with people. To kind of ride on what I had written before on diversity, it is the time you spend with such a variety of people that you improve on how to communicate to them. I love hearing their stories, their triumphs and their struggles.

One of my fondest memories was playing chess with a homeless man on the street. He had a good soul and while he knew he was not in the best of position he was grateful to be alive. His toothless smile was heart warming while he spoke and recounted his life lessons.

Those experiences lead to better empathy which I believe leaves to better PR.
