There is an article on Mashable about a study done showing that 64% of “persuadable voters” fact-check what politicians are saying. So there you go independents and non full party-siders do extra research to see if what is being said is true or not. I believe that this trend will continue to grow as each election cycle comes hopefully putting politicians more accountable for what they say. Adding to it the power of social media, like was talked about in my previous post, and how quickly word can spread the internet should hopefully bring a new level of accountability.

Another interesting aspect is a shift that will be happening from a focus of television, for political advertising to social media and internet as a way to spread a message. Baby-boomers statistically prefer to believe more of what they see on TV than millennials do and as that generation passes on so will a style of politics.
